The Carpenters had a massive hit with Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft but it was written and first recorded as an album track by 70's prog band Klaatu

Not a fan of that Calling Alians song Nimmers, but anything sung by other than the Carpenters gets my vote.
For some reason never liked the Carpenters stuff.
